Some friends and I were thinking about taking a crack at the Silverhorn on Athabasca this coming weekend, but we're a little lacking on winter alpine experience.
With the coming dump of snow called up in spotwx in the area, does a fair bit of tend to stay on the ground? The concern for the moment is whether the whole approach is going to turn into a days worth of postholing to get to the base. Are snowshoes/skis recommended for this time of year with a dump of 10 cm expected in the next couple days?
Cheers and thanks for the input!
