Just reaching out to the community regarding the ice picks avaialble for the x-dreams, and if anybody has any feed back from using them. Considering purchasing the newly available pick weights, but was wondering if I should just continue using the mixed picks they come with for well....mixed climbing and give the ice picks a go instead. Certainly the few times I've been on brittle thin ice this season, a little bit of head weight would have been nice, but maybe the ice pick would offer what I'm looking for. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Were you aware that in addition to original brand picks from Cassin, there is a mixed pick available from Howey Tool based in Ontario.
howeytool.com - X-dream replacement pick
I don't have familiarity with the X-dreams however I did get a chance to climb on the Howey replacement for the Nomic. I really liked them but obviously different picks. Just throwing it out there for options. Cost wise they are $40, plus shipping cost of around $10.

In a no brand specific situation, it stands to reason that an ice specific pick should outperform a mixed pick for pure ice routes.

Does Howey Tool sell specific Ice picks for the X dreams or just the Mixed?

Also curious if there is anywhere in Canada selling the head weights for these?
