After the discussion re: summer updates on this forum, here is some info I consider is valuable for our little climbing community as we approach the rock season.
Since Feb. I've been climbing on Yam, doing 5 routes so far.
FEB: Forbidden Corner and B Route. The former was virtually free of snow but the later was quite snowy on the ledges and wet in the chimney. As the Bow V. received tons of snow about 2 weeks ago, expect conditions on B Route to be still not so good.
MAR: King's Chimney. Snow by the ton plastered to pitches 2 to 4. Pitches 1 and 5 OKAY. I was climbing Unamed 2 days ago and there was even more snow on the route than in March.
APR: Red Shirt (April 5th) and Unamed (April 9th). The former was a great climb, not a lot of snow (only on ledges) and the rest was quite dry. This was just before the last snowfall - conditions should be improving after the warm w-e coming up. The later was chocked up with snow and ICE !!! Great sketchy climb - put leather boots on and enjoy the alpine feeling. Last 2 pitches very cold and tricky as a slip is not far away.
I hope this help the ones craving for rock,
pa
